Anthropic Reportedly Targeting 2026 IPO, Seeking Over $300B Valuation

Anthropic is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) potentially as early as 2026, the FT reports.

To initiate this process, Anthropic has engaged the law firm Wilson Sonsini and is working through an internal checklist in anticipation of what may become one of history’s largest IPOs.

Furthermore, reports indicate that the company aims to secure a new funding round that could push its valuation beyond $300 billion. It has also engaged in discussions with various investment banks, though an underwriter has not yet been selected, as stated by the FT. Anthropic’s most recent funding announcement in September involved a $13 billion raise, which established its valuation at $183 billion. Wilson Sonsini has served as an advisor to Anthropic since 2022.

This development occurs while OpenAI, currently valued at $500 billion, is similarly exploring the possibility of an IPO and has begun its own preparatory work, though no specific listing date has been disclosed, according to Reuters.
