Nvidia and Siemens Partner to Accelerate Chip Design with GPU-Powered EDA and Digital Twins

At CES 2026, Nvidia revealed its collaboration with Siemens to enable Siemens’ electronic design automation (EDA) software to run on Nvidia GPUs. This initiative aims to expedite the chip-design process, which has become increasingly computationally demanding as chip features shrink and transistor counts rise, given that nearly all modern computer chips are designed using EDA tools.

Beyond merely accelerating chip development, Nvidia and Siemens intend to create digital replicas, from individual chips to entire racks, to rigorously test their functionality before physical construction. “What we are hoping for, and the reason why we’re partnering so closely together, is so that we could build that Vera Rubin in the future as a digital twin,” Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang stated during the Siemens keynote today.
