U.S. AI Funding Landscape 2025: A Comprehensive List of $100M+ Rounds

The AI sector experienced a landmark year in the U.S. and globally.

According to TechCrunch’s data, 2024 saw 49 startups secure funding rounds of $100 million or more; notably, three firms completed multiple “mega-rounds,” and seven achieved rounds of $1 billion or greater.

How will 2025 measure up? With the year drawing to a close, 2025 has already equaled 2024 in the number of companies securing funding rounds of $100 million or more. Additionally, there’s been a notable increase in companies achieving multiple funding rounds exceeding $100 million this year compared to the last.

Below is a comprehensive list of U.S. AI companies that have secured $100 million or more in funding during the current year:

November

  • Anysphere, responsible for the popular vibe-coding platform Cursor, secured $2.3 billion in a funding round, pushing its valuation to $29.3 billion. This, their second funding event this year, was announced on November 13.
  • Parallel, a developer of web infrastructure for AI agents, announced a $100 million Series A round on November 12. Index Ventures and Kleiner Perkins jointly led this investment.
  • The healthcare AI agent startup Hippocratic AI completed a $126 million Series C round, valuing the company at $3.5 billion. This investment, their second this year, was announced on November 3 and spearheaded by Avenir Growth.

October

  • Fireworks AI, a platform facilitating the development of AI applications with open-source models, announced a $250 million Series C round on October 28. This funding valued the company at $4 billion.
  • Enterprise AI firm Uniphore achieved a $2.5 billion valuation following a $260 million Series F round announced on October 22. Investors in this round included Snowflake Ventures, Nvidia, Databricks Ventures, and AMD, alongside others.
  • Voice AI company Sesame secured a $250 million Series B round, jointly led by Sequoia and Spark Capital. Announced on October 21, the funding also saw participation from SignalRank.
  • Cambridge, Massachusetts-based OpenEvidence, known for its AI chatbot in medicine, completed its second funding round of 2025. This $200 million Series C round, announced on October 20, set the company’s valuation at $6 billion.
  • Lila Sciences, aiming to develop a science superintelligence platform, revealed its second funding round of 2025 on October 14. The $350 million Series A round was jointly spearheaded by Braidwell and Collective Global.

  • Modular disclosed a $250 million funding round on September 24. The US Innovative Technology Fund led this investment, with GV, Greylock, and General Catalyst, among others, contributing.

  • Generative media platform Fal completed a $125 million Series C round, led by Meritech Capital Partners. Announced on July 31, this round valued Fal at $1.5 billion and included investors such as Salesforce Ventures, Shopify Ventures, and Google AI Futures Fund.
  • Ambience Healthcare, a five-year-old company developing an AI healthcare operating system, secured a $243 million Series C round, co-led by Oak HC/FT and Andreessen Horowitz. Kleiner Perkins, OpenAI Startup Fund, and Smash Capital were among the other participants.
  • AI research lab Reka AI raised $110 million in a funding round that included Snowflake and Nvidia. Announced on July 22, this Series B round valued the company at $1 billion.
  • Thinking Machines Lab, an AI research facility, verified that it secured $2 billion on July 15. Andreessen Horowitz led this substantial seed round, with contributions from Nvidia, Accel, and AMD, among others. The company is now valued at $12 billion.

  • Healthcare AI startup Tennr announced a $101 million Series C round, led by IVP, with contributions from Lightspeed Venture Partners, GV, and Andreessen Horowitz, among others. This funding values the company at $605 million.

  • LMArena, a widely used, community-powered benchmarking tool for AI models, secured a $100 million seed round, valuing the startup at $600 million. Announced on May 21, the round was jointly led by Andreessen Horowitz and UC Investments, with Lightspeed Venture Partners, Kleiner Perkins, and Felicis also contributing.

  • SandboxAQ finalized a $450 million Series E round on April 4, setting the AI model company’s valuation at $5.7 billion. Investors in this round included Nvidia, Google, and Bridgewater Associates founder Ray Dalio, among others.
  • Runway, known for developing AI models for media production, completed a $308 million Series D round, announced on April 3, valuing the company at $3 billion. General Atlantic led this investment, with SoftBank, Nvidia, and Fidelity also participating.

March

  • AI giant OpenAI secured an unprecedented $40 billion funding round, valuing the startup at $300 billion. This round, concluded on March 31, was led by SoftBank, with Thrive Capital, Microsoft, and Coatue, among others, also investing.
  • On March 25, Nexthop AI, an AI infrastructure firm, announced the completion of a Series A round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. The $110 million funding also saw contributions from Kleiner Perkins, Battery Ventures, and Emergent Ventures, among others.
  • Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Insilico Medicine secured $110 million for its generative AI drug discovery platform, as announced on March 13. This Series E round valued the company at $1 billion and was jointly led by Value Partners and Pudong Chuangtou.
  • AI infrastructure company Celestial AI completed a $250 million Series C round, establishing its valuation at $2.5 billion. The March 11 investment was led by Fidelity, with Tiger Global, BlackRock, and Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan, among others, participating.

  • AI coding startup Turing, which collaborates with LLM companies, finalized a Series E round on March 7, setting its valuation at $2.2 billion. The $111 million investment was led by Khazanah Nasional, with WestBridge Capital, Gaingels, and Sozo Ventures, among others, also participating.
  • AI defense tech startup Shield AI secured $240 million in a Series F round that concluded on March 6.   • Abridge, an AI platform for transcribing patient-clinician conversations, achieved a $2.75 billion valuation in a Series D round announced on February 17. The $250 million investment was co-led by IVP and Elad Gil, with Lightspeed, Redpoint, and Spark Capital also among the contributors.
  • AI legal tech firm Eudia secured $105 million in a Series A round, led by General Catalyst. Floodgate, Defy Ventures, and Everywhere Ventures, along with other VC firms and numerous angel investors, also participated. The round concluded on February 13.
  • AI hardware startup EnCharge AI completed a $100 million Series B round, which also closed on February 13. Tiger Global led this investment, with Scout Ventures, Samsung Ventures, and RTX Ventures, among others, participating. The Santa Clara-based company was established in 2022.
  • AI legal tech firm Harvey secured a $300 million Series D round, valuing the three-year-old company at $3 billion. Sequoia led the round, announced on February 12, with OpenAI Startup Fund, Kleiner Perkins, Elad Gil, and other investors also contributing.

January

  • Synthetic voice startup ElevenLabs completed a $180 million Series C round, valuing the company at over $3 billion. Announced on January 30, the round was jointly led by ICONIQ Growth and Andreessen Horowitz, with Sequoia, NEA, and Salesforce Ventures, among others, also participating.
  • Hippocratic AI, a firm specializing in large language models for healthcare, announced a $141 million Series B round on January 9. This investment valued the company at over $1.6 billion and was led by Kleiner Perkins, with Andreessen Horowitz, Nvidia, and General Catalyst also contributing.
