Apple unveiled a new Creator Studio subscription bundle on Tuesday, providing access to six creative applications and premium content within iWork apps, the company announced.
This bundle is priced at $12.99 monthly or $129 annually, encompassing Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and Pixelmator Pro for both Mac and iPad, along with Motion, Compressor, and MainStage for Mac. Additionally, it features premium content for Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. Freeform for iPhone, iPad, and Mac will be added to the bundle at a later date. A discounted rate of $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year is available for college students and educators.
The Apple Creator Studio will become available starting January 28, with all new subscribers receiving a complimentary one-month trial.
Alongside this announcement, Apple disclosed upcoming new features for these creative applications.
Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad will receive Transcript Search for locating soundbites, Visual Search for pinpointing specific moments through descriptions, and Beat Detection. The iPad version of Final Cut Pro will also introduce Montage Maker for rapid editing starts and Auto Crop for content reframing.
Logic Pro will also gain new functionalities, including Synth Player, Chord ID, an expanded sound library, natural language search, among others.
The Apple Creator Studio additionally grants access to MainStage, which transforms Macs into a versatile instrument, voice processor, or guitar rig.
Pixelmator Pro, acquired by Apple in 2024, is making its debut on iPad, extending its editing capabilities to a broader range of creators. It offers comprehensive Apple Pencil support and efficient image editing.
Furthermore, Apple Creator Studio includes Motion, a graphics tool for generating 2D and 3D effects, and Compressor, which collaborates with Final Cut Pro and Motion to tailor output settings for various distribution channels.
“Apple Creator Studio offers exceptional value, empowering creators of all levels to hone their craft and expand their abilities by offering readily available, potent, and intuitive tools for video editing, music production, creative visuals, and visual productivity — all enhanced with advanced intelligent features to improve and expedite workflows,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, in a press release.
A Creator Studio subscription provides access to a new “Content Hub” within Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, featuring high-quality photos, graphics, and illustrations. Subscribers will also find new premium templates and themes across Keynote, Pages, and Numbers.
Users of Apple Creator Studio will gain access to beta features in Keynote, such as tools for drafting presentations from text outlines, generating presenter notes from existing slides, and swiftly refining layouts and object positioning. For Numbers, subscribers can utilize Magic Fill to generate formulas and automatically populate tables through pattern recognition.
Apple also clarified that Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage will still be offered as standalone, one-time purchases via the Mac App Store. Additionally, free versions of Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and Freeform will continue to be accessible.
