At the Google Cloud Next conference on Wednesday, Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced a significant new offering: the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
This new Google solution is designed for the large-scale development and management of AI agents, positioning itself against competitors like Amazon’s Bedrock AgentCore and Microsoft Foundry.
Considering that AI, especially agents, currently excels in technical domains like coding, and given the early stage of enterprise AI adoption where security is a primary concern, Google’s strategic focus for this tool is on IT and technical departments.
For business users, Google directs them to its Gemini Enterprise app, which was launched in the fall. Through this app, they can either utilize agents created by IT or develop their own for various tasks, such as scheduling meetings, automating trigger-based processes, streamlining repetitive actions, and creating or editing files without switching applications, according to Google.
Google also highlighted that these tools are powered by underlying models including Google’s own Gemini LLM and Nano Banana 2 image generator, as well as Anthropic’s Claude. Support for Claude Opus, Sonnet, and Haiku was announced, covering flagship, reasoning, and cost-effective models, including the recently launched Opus 4.7.
