The digital world faces a significant trust issue, exacerbated by the proliferation of AI-generated content beyond just social media. AI-created text and images are now infiltrating crucial areas like job applications, product reviews, and even insurance claims, making it increasingly difficult for platforms and users to discern authenticity.
In response, several startups have emerged to establish a much-needed “trust layer” for the internet, with Pangram being a prominent example. The company recently secured $9 million for its advanced AI detection system and forged a partnership with Substack, enabling readers to see when their favorite authors use AI in newsletters. Pangram also recently launched a new tool for detecting AI-generated images.
Tune in as Pangram co-founder and CEO Max Spero joins TechCrunch’s Equity podcast to explore the potential of AI detection tools and discuss the critical distinction between AI-assisted and purely AI-generated content.
